California Land University, Sacramento (CSUS, Sacramento Country, or informally Sac State) is a public university in Sacramento, California. Founded in 1947 as Sacramento State College, it is the eleventh oldest school in the 23-campus California State Academy system. The university enrolls approximately 31,500 students annually, has an alumni base of more 250,000[7] and awards 9,000 degrees annually. The university offers 151 different bachelor's degrees, 69 master's degrees, 28 types of didactics credentials, and 5 doctoral degrees.[viii] [9]

Located on Lake Natoma, xv miles (24 km) east of the university right next to Nimbus Dam, the Sacramento Country Aquatic Center is a cooperative functioning of the Associated Students of California Land Academy, Sacramento, University Union of Sacramento Country, California Department of Canoeing and Waterways, and the California Department of Parks and Recreation. The center was established in 1981 and has provided pedagogy to thousands of students. The middle houses the Sacramento State Rowing Team, and is the grooming destination for many other university rowing teams and clubs. The center hosts several national championships, including the Pac 10 Rowing Championships, Pacific Coast Rowing Championships, NCAA Women's Rowing Championships, IRA National Rowing Championship, and the West Coast Conference Rowing Title.

Associated Students Inc. is a nonprofit corporation that provides programs, services, and student government for Sacramento State, ostensibly through California Education Lawmaking.[103] ASI is a California recognized 501(c)(3) corporation. The university has a bus terminal station at the northward finish of campus, which serves as a major end for Sacramento Regional Transit. RT provides double-decker services to downtown (Route 30), Midtown/Sutter District (Road 34), American River Higher/Watt (Road 82), Marconi/Arcade Light-Track Station (Route 87), 7 days a week departing approximately every 10 minutes.[120] The academy is located about 1/2-mile from the Academy/65th Light Rail Station, simply south of the campus.
